The Ravenswood City School District (RCSD) serves a diverse community in east Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. There are 3600 students in the seven non-charter public schools:
  • Belle Haven Elementary (K-8)
  • Brentwood Academy (K-5)
  • Cesar Chavez/Green Oaks Academy (K-8)
  • Costaño/Home of the 49ers Academy (K-8)
  • Ronald McNair Academy (6-8) 
  • Willow Oaks Elementary (K-8)
  • Ravenswood Child Development Center (Pre-school)

Demographics:
  • 78% Hispanic
  • 11% African American
  • 9% Pacific Islander

Although Ravenswood is located in the heart of Silicon Valley and is surrounded by some of the finest public school districts in the United States, currently:
  • 69% of students are English language learners
  • 89% are considered low income
  • 49% of parents are not high school graduates
  • A 715 Academic Performance Index (API) falls short of the 800 statewide target

However, the RCSD is making progress and has established the following Strategic Goals for 2010-2013.
