The Ravenswood City School District (RCSD) serves a diverse community in east Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. There are 3600 students in the seven non-charter public schools:
- Belle Haven Elementary (K-8)
- Cesar Chavez/Green Oaks Academy (K-8)
- Costaño/Home of the 49ers Academy (K-8)
- Ronald McNair Academy (6-8)
- Willow Oaks Elementary (K-8)
- Ravenswood Child Development Center (Pre-school)
Demographics:
Although Ravenswood is located in the heart of Silicon Valley and is surrounded by some of the finest public school districts in the United States, currently:
- 69% of students are English language learners
- 89% are considered low income
- 49% of parents are not high school graduates
- A 715 Academic Performance Index (API) falls short of the 800 statewide target
However, the RCSD is making progress and has established the following Strategic Goals for 2010-2013.
