Adopt A Teacher: This program invites a group (4-8 individuals) to provide much needed encouragement and school supplies to a teacher for the school year. Adopting a teacher involves a nine-month commitment (mid-October to mid-June) and a financial cost of $400-500 in supplies. Each group assumes the following general responsibilities:
Provide encouragement for a classroom teacher through notes or small gifts of appreciation (e.g. a plant or coffee gift card)
Designate one person to communicate at least monthly with the teacher
Assemble and deliver to the teacher 2 supply kits (guidelines are provided)
Provide snacks, supplies and support to the teacher for 1-2 class parties
Participate in the Ravenswood Classroom Clearning Project in the Spring.

Special Group Projects:
The Ravenswood City School District has many school site maintenance and upgrade needs; such as exterior and interior painting, building projects, black-top and playground maintenance and enhancements, re-carpeting classrooms, and general clean-up to name a few. This provides churches, schools, scouts, businesses, and other volunteer organizations the opportunity to partner with the RCSD to develop unique work days that meet both their needs. Service projects require planning and prep time with district personnel and a minimum financial commitment of $500 for materials. Contact Beth Kawasaki, REF Service Project Development, at beth.kawasaki@gmail.com for more information.

Giving Tree:
Help purchase necessary supplies and classroom items when needed. An email is sent to Giving Tree participants every six weeks.  Feel free to make a purchase or simply delete the email. Supplies can be dropped off in Palo Alto or Menlo Park. The supplies are then consolidated and delivered to the school. This is an easy way to help make a difference. There won’t be any meetings—just email communication. This commitment will not exceed $100 over one school year. Contact: www.allstudentsmatter.org
