Mrs. CloverMs. Clover realizes that when the kids are in the music classroom they are in a safe space – a space where they are willing to try new things and perform. During her five years of teaching at Willow Oaks, she has worked hard to obtain the support that students need, and she has deepened her instruction to provide an arts experience that strengthens literacy. Through Donors Choose and support from a local cafe, Ms. Clover obtained a number of wonderful instruments and risers so the kids have a proper performance area. The student performances are wildly popular among families and the entire school community. Ms. Clover has seen the power that amazing teaching can have with the proper materials. In addition, she has worked to integrate literacy with her music curriculum. Sadly she is moving to Southern California with her fiancée, but we are so happy to have had her in our district. Thank you for your years of teaching in Ravenswood, we’ll miss you!

Jonathan truly believes in the power of Makerspaces. He has seen first hand how Makerspaces open students eyes to a new way of learning and provide students with a space where new things can be tried. Jonathan says he's inspired everyday working in the Makerspace. “If I can inspire a student to have an interest in school then that makes me inspired.” His space is full of 3D printers, sewing machines, paper airplanes, beads, computers and much more! He has now worked at Willow for three years, and his space is so popular that he often has a line out the door at lunchtime. He believes educators should “be lifelong learners because learning new concepts helps you stay flexible.” We thank you for your commitment to developing curious, lifelong learners and we are so happy you are a part of our district!
