Strengthens the infrastructure for high quality literacy instruction aligned to the Science of Reading by funding reading intervention teachers, literacy coaches and curriculum resources that improve reading and writing outcomes, ensuring all students build strong foundational skills.

STEM Coaches expand access to hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math opportunities through makerspaces and project-based learning. Highlights include our award-winning robotics program, which gives students the chance to compete, innovate, and build real-world skills.

Middle school is a pivotal opportunity for development. REF funding provides critical staffing and administrative support at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School, ensuring stable leadership, specialized instructional support and essential enrichment opportunities.

Provides funding for professional self selected and district-led professional development, credential support, recruitment and retention efforts, staff appreciation events, and school site discretionary grants for school-based initiatives.
